The pre-engineered metal building system is a complete building enclosure solution, typically incorporating both a structural framework and often roof and wall cladding. The structural system features rigid frames made from plate steel, which are cold-formed into an "H" shape through a specialized manufacturing process. These frames, consisting of roof beams and columns, are bolted together on-site. Perpendicular to these frames are secondary roof supports, known as purlins, to which the roofing system is attached. For the walls, secondary structural members called girts span between frames, supporting the wall cladding, which is commonly made of metal panels.
